The live area at Mixmasters comprises 3 rooms linked with tie lines for mics and monitoring.

The Big Room is just that - over 200 cubic metres built with mud brick and wood. Acoustically, the room is excellent, and is regarded as one of the best drum rooms / acoustic environments in Australia.

The small room has reflective wood and mudbrick walls, and removable carpet. Tie lines connect microphone, instrument & headphone signals (using personal "Hear System" mixers) with the big room and control room.

The padded room is a little more "dead", with acoustic tiling on the walls and visibility to the big room and control room. With excellent isolation from the other rooms, the Padded Room is great for vocals and instrumental overdubs or for that tight guitar amp sound.
